1. Introduction

ModelRoute (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates an AI model API platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. What We Collect

Account data

Email address, display name, and profile picture from your authentication provider (Google or GitHub). We do not store passwords.

Usage data

API request metadata: timestamps, model used, token counts, cost, response times. We use this for billing, analytics, and abuse prevention.

Request content

We process the content of your API requests (prompts, messages, images) to route them to upstream model providers. We do not store request or response content after delivery. We do not use your content to train models.

Payment data

Payment processing is handled by our payment processor (Stripe/Lemon Squeezy). We do not store credit card numbers. We receive transaction confirmations and billing status.

Technical data

IP address, browser type, device info, and pages visited. Collected automatically via server logs and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Providing the Service and processing API requests
  • Billing, invoicing, and credit management
  • Rate limiting and abuse detection
  • Service improvement and performance monitoring
  • Customer support communications
  • Legal compliance

4. Data Sharing

  • AI providers: Your request content is forwarded to the relevant model provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) to generate responses. Each provider has their own privacy policy.
  • Payment processor: Transaction data is shared with our payment processor to handle billing.
  • Infrastructure: We use cloud hosting and CDN providers to deliver the Service.
  • Legal: We may disclose data when required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Usage metadata (request logs) is retained for up to 90 days for billing and analytics. Request content is not stored after delivery. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting support.

6. Security

We use TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, secure API key generation, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure. We promptly address any security incidents.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions and preferences. We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand usage patterns. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of analytics tracking
  • Withdraw consent

9. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
